The effects of triton X, 100(TX-100) on the flotation of magnesite and dolomite under sodium oleate system were studied by flotation tests, surface tension tests, FTIR tests and XPS tests. The results show that TX-100 can enhance the effect on the flotation separation of magnesite and dolomite by using NaOL. NaOL is chemically adsorbed on the surface of magnesite and dolomite, and may have competitive adsorption with TX-100 on the surface of dolomite. TX-100 reduces the surface tension of NaOL and promotes the dissolution and dispersion of NaOL. The concentration of Ca 2 + needed to produce calcium oleate precipitation is increased by solubilization, which weakens the adsorption of sodium oleate on dolomite surface, thus selectively inhibiting the dolomite.
